Writing the Land Anthologies
I am pleased as punch to have work in two Writing the Land anthologies. Thanks to Lis McLoughlin, Founder and Director of the project. Activism + Poetry = Writing the Land.
For the “The Connecticut River,” my work was based on the North Branch of the Park River in Hartford. Guided by Mary Pelletier, the Park River Watershed Revitalization Initiative’s Program Director, I was able to see the river and understand its plight.
For “Youth Write the Land” I worked with children in the Columbia Land Trust Conservancy in Greenport, NY. They wrote, we wrote, and I wrote about what we experienced together with the assistance of their Conservation Education Coordinator, Jenifer Rosete. The experience? Joyful. For more information about Writing the Land and their projects, go to writingtheland.org.
